Gumban is currently in Yokohama, Japan and will be there for two weeks to help out in Inoue’s preparation.

The 24-year-old prospect the ALA Gym in turn would earn experience by sparring with a world-class fighter like Inoue.

“The experience of going to Japan and sparring with a world champion is a huge boost in his mind and confidence,” ALA Gym head coach Edito Villamor told Sun.Star Cebu.

Gumban is a talented unbeaten boxer but is still in the early stages of his career.

He owns an impressive 17-0 slate including eight knockouts. He has fought some once promising boxers like Joemer Lumacad, Marjun Tabamo and Aroel Romasasa. He was impressive in his last outing beating one of the toughest journeymen – Jason Egera.
