Amateur Boxing in Mandaue City Tonight

The ring of the bell and the thunderous thud of leather hitting flesh will reach the New Mandaue Public Market as competitors from various Cebu schools and clubs will be fighting in the 3rd Mayor Jonas Cortes Cup: Boxing at the Park Amateur Series.

Amateur boxers from the ALA Boxing Gym of Talamban, Cebu City, will also be making their ring appearances in this tournament.

Elmo Traya will have a chance to make up for his loss when he faces against Mardie Muaña in the 58 –kilogram class.

For the 49-kilogram division, Kevin Jake Cataraja of Talamban National High School will be facing Mart Kevin Sorero in a three-round contest while Bacayan Elementary School’s Arnold Quebido will go head-to-head against Patrick Gullane in the 55-kilogram weight class.

UV Boxing Team gains another opportunity to bring victory when it sends Rommel Tuñacao to compete against Ramil Casañares of Pit-os National High School.

Also seeing action are contenders Raymond Tarona, BB Rama, Raymond Rama, and Franklin Rotilles, who hail from the same boxing club. They will be gearing up against their respective opponents Jose
Roger Groval, Jomar Caspe, John Lloyd Trasporte, and Jun Nuñez.

This night of boxing will not be complete without entertaining matches featuring amateur standouts Rey Morales and Rolando Lingao-Lingao. They will be facing JP Artieda and Ivor Lastrilla respectively.

This free to the public event, which starts at 6 PM, will also feature pairs Juren Labordo and Jicky Gaco and Melvin Besinga and Ralph Lulu.
