Pinoy Pride 9: WBO World Light Flyweight Championship Live on Pay-per-view in Cebu

The fastest growing sports series on television is finally on Pay Per View.

PINOY PRIDE, a mega boxing series that used to be aired via delayed telecast will now be experienced live on Sky Cable and at SM Cebu Cinema 1.

ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports top executives has finalized a deal with cable giant Sky Cable and SM City Group to partner and showcase the PINOY PRIDE 9: WBO WORLD LIGHT FLYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP between Donnie “Ahas” Nietes of the Philippines vs WBO Light Flyweight Champion Ramon Garcia of Mexico on October 8, 2011.

Due to the great demand of this PINOY PRIDE 9 event, this world championship boxing presentation that is scheduled in Bacolod City can be viewed in Cebu live on SKY CABLE and at the SM City Cebu Cinema 1.

“We are surprised of the tremendous demand for this championship fight that we are experiencing in Cebu now. We had to find solutions to address this matter.” said ALA Promotions PRESIDENT and CEO Michael Aldeguer.

“We are glad to announce to the boxing fans that PINOY PRIDE 9 can now be viewed exclusively live in Cebu on PPV. We are very excited and happy for the fans in Cebu about this recent development. This is an initial step to bigger plans to broadcast PINOY PRIDE live nationally and internationally in the near future.” added Aldeguer.

To be shown in the main under card is the WBO Asia Pacfic Bantamweight
Championship between defending champion AJ “Bazooka” Banal of the Philippines against the dangerous Mexican KO artist in Mario “Macas” Briones who is undefeated in his 20 professional fights.

Also to be featured on this maiden Pay Per View event of ALA Promotions and ABS- CBN will be the exciting and undefeated Filipino prospect Arthur “El Matador” Villanueva who will be fighting his first internationally broadcast bout against Shaabani Madilu of Kenya who is riding a 5 fight winning streak.

The last installment of the Pinoy Pride series that featured Milan “Metodico” Melindo beating Francisco Rosas had a national television rating of 13.8% and an amazing 21% in Mindanao.
